Travel on the brain? If you’re anything like us you’ve considered spreading your wings and exploring yoga abroad. We’ve done the hard yards for you and found your to-visit list. San Francisco has long been known as the health and fitness mecca of Northern California. We scouted the town for the best yoga studios and nearby snack spots sure to please. You’re so very welcome.
Yoga Garden + The Mill
We love the old school, cosy vibe of the cottage-like Yoga Garden. Offering 100 classes each week, with styles ranging from BoxingYoga to Vinyasa, AcroYoga and Restorative, you’re sure to find a session that suits. After namaste, meander down Divisadero street to The Mill. This cafe offers some of the best coffee in San Francisco (Four Barrel) and the fresh, hand-made toast (additive-free bread and toppings are made in-house) is the perfect post-yoga treat.

The Pad + Juice Shop
The spacious and friendly scene at The Pad, in addition to the expert instructors, had us coming back time and again. After we rolled up our mats we stopped by Juice Shop for a Blue-Green Algae elixir.

YogaWorks + Seed + Salt
We figured that any class at YogaWorks would live up to the brands reputation. Many influential yogis have trained here and we can understand why. After a tough Vinyasa Flow, the plant-based and locally sourced fare at Seed + Salt (like the S + S Burger made from beets, walnuts and lentils) hit the spot.

Yoga Tree + Souvla
An institution in the yoga world, Yoga Tree is one of our favorite spots to bend and stretch. With six locations in SF alone, Yoga Tree just feels like home. After a yummy Yin session or vigorous Jivamukti class, we recommend heading next door to Souvla for authentic and delicious Mediterranean food. Don’t miss the frozen Greek yogurt topped with olive oil and sea salt.

Yoga to the People + Gracias Madre
After trudging up five flights of stairs, the beautiful yoga oasis that is Yoga to the People is the ultimate reward. A donation-based studio, students from far and wide flock to this spot in the Mission for a dose of asana inspiration. After class, indulge in a vegan Mexican feast (organically and locally sourced of course) nearby at Gracias Madre think tacos topped with cashew cheese and coconut ceviche.
